about us
WE ARE A FULLY EQUIPPED
Dance Studio
We have a wide variety of classes available in many disciplines. We also focus on putting on performances to help the students showcase what they’ve learned, and feel more comfortable being in front of an audience. All classes are taught in a supportive environment to help the students learn, and to maximize information retention, with a large focus of having fun! If you have any questions about our programs, please CONTACT US and we’ll be happy to discuss them with you.
ABOUT OUR
Head Instructor
Laura started dancing with Maggie Hoeppner of Reedsport Studio of Dance in 1983 as an 8 year old. When she was in 8th grade Maggie decided to move to Springfield, OR and close her studio in Reedsport. Laura and several other students travelled to Springfield on weekends to dance all day on a Saturday. She did this until her senior year in 1993 when she graduated from High school.
She went to SWOCC for two years and began doing a ballet class twice a week in Florence, OR with Doreen Ditzhazy, an instructor who began her career with San Francisco Ballet Company, and Laura would travel once a week to Springfield and help Maggie with her classes in the afternoon. She then married her high school sweetheart in 1995, and transferred to University of Oregon. She traveled during the week from her hometown of Reedsport to Eugene to attend school and see her husband for three years. On her way home her senior year, 1997-1998, She would travel through Florence and teach 2-3 classes at Coastal Fitness once a week. This is where she first started Time and Tide Dance Company.
In 1998, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance from the school of music. She then opened her dance studio in Reedsport, and continued teaching at Coastal Fitness. Teaching children her passion and love of Dance, is what she always wanted to do since the 7th grade.
In 2017, a cannabis company decided to move in next to her studio and she started a go fund me fundraiser so we could move into a more appropriate building for our clientele, children to come and go from. The community responded, and made it possible for us to move to our current location. It is amazing how a village sticks together and helps people in need. We had to remodel of course, to make it a danceable space rather than an accounting office. A bathroom, better parking and lighting, and a fabulous dance space!
Her overall goal has always been to teach children what she loves to do! She hopes to continue dancing for years to come and create passions inside all the students she teaches.
